CREAMY

Creamy

Creamy was rescued near death in August 2020, from the highway in Bacong.  He was starving to death and almost hairless.

He has undergone a miraculous transformation and is now a gorgeous, healthy 12 year old.

Creamy's Story

Creamy was in a really terrible state, extremely thin and lacking hair due to mange.

He was bought to the Sanctuary, and we really didn't think he was going to make it.

He was so so skinny but slowly began to put on weight and grow back some hair.

Creamy

Like most older rescues he was really wary of us and didn’t want to come near us, but we managed to give him a bath.

After just a few months, his hair was coming back, and he was becoming more sociable.

He really is a gorgeous dog and pretty healthy. We are really unsure of his age but he is over 10 given the condition of his teeth.

For some reason he didn't like Doc Riv and always barked at him when he was working at the shelter. Maybe because he associates him with vaccinations!

Along with a few other heavy weights, Creamy took part in "The Biggest Loser" Weight Loss Challenge, managing not to lose any weight, but not to gain any either!

He lives in the kitchen area along with Maya but the cold concrete floors are probably no good for his aging bones.
We would love to find a home for Creamy in his last few years. He just needs an outside area to poop in and walk around and a short walk every day - and most importantly, someone to tell him that he is loved, he is special and that he does matter.

Creamy

Today is very sad day at the Sanctuary. Our beloved Creamy, one of our very first rescues, passed away unexpectedly.
The day before his passing, Creamy was still very much enjoying life. He went for a walk, played with his friends, and ate his dinner.
But on Wednesday morning our staff noticed that he was panting more than usual.

Creamy

The vet happened to be there, so he gave him a checkup. Within 10 minutes Creamy lost the ability to stand and his breathing got rapid. We put him on oxygen, but sadly he died not long after.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause of his death. Creamy was an old dog, so the vet thinks it was possibly his heart that gave out or pancreatitis.
The moment Creamy passed away, all the dogs started howling as you can hear in the last part of the video. They will miss him just as much as we will.
Creamy had such a hard life but we take comfort in knowing that he was happy in his final years at the Sanctuary. He always had a full belly - in fact, he was even a (reluctant) contestant in our Fat Camp in 2021.
Dear Creamy, you were loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. You will live on forever in our hearts and memories.  You can read about Creamy and see many more pictures of him on his profile page
here.

Creamy Update March 2021

March 21, 2021

Creamy is doing well - here's a picture of him just after he had a bath and rolled in the dirt!

We did find a lump on his belly near his back leg. We think it was an insect bite or he had a little squabble with another dog. He is generally mild mannered but he sits by the biscuit bowl and guards it for himself!

We put out large bowls of biscuits around the shelter in the morning and then give them individual meals at night.  He still spends his time outside the caretakers room under the table.
We are aware of someone who wants to adopt two senior dogs or two dogs no one else will take so that he can give them more attention, and Creamy is a possible candidate providing he doesn't take a dislike to the gentlemen considering adoption - maybe he was hurt in the past by a man - he never liked Doc Riv and would always bark at him!  Here's a short video of Creamy this month.
