We have no public veterinary service.  We urge you to find professional veterinary care in Dumaguete from private practices or the City Vet.  Our veterinary service is for rescued animals only.  We occasionally have visiting vets providing their services voluntarily, and when this happens, we may run a campaign to provide services to those least able to afford it in our local community.  Subscribe to our Facebook page to keep up to date with such campaigns. 

If you cannot speak to the person responsible, you can report it to the Barangay Tanod, or the Police.

If the animal is in immediate danger, and is in very poor health, contact us and we may be able to help, please send us a message!

The first thing to do is to try and help them yourself.  If they can walk and move and eat, but have little or no hair, then they have MANGE, which is treatable with a simple tablet in their food called NexGuard, which costs around 700 pesos and will cure their mange within weeks.

If they are very weak and thin, then consider feeding them a little food and leaving some water out for them.

If they have obvious injuries and are very thin, then we may be able to help.  Please send us a message!.

We are located in Cantil-E, Dumaguete City, Philippines. Due to instances of puppies being dumped over our fence, we are now refraining from stating our exact location unless a pre-booked appointment has been made. 

We are very lucky to have a small number of people who regularly (i.e. weekly) give up some of their time to come over and help the dogs get accustomed to human interaction. If you are able to dedicate at least one day a week to come over and help socialize our dogs, please send us a message!

If you are unable to visit the shelter regularly, please consider sponsoring one of our dogs instead! For a monthly donation of Php 1,500 ($30 USD), you can sponsor living costs for one dog and will receive updates on how your chosen dog is doing monthly. Yes you can! We use Top Dog brand dog food and will gladly welcome any donations of chicken necks, chicken heads, liver, meat and canned Aozi dog food for our more medically-compromised dog. Click here to Learn More.

Sorry, at the moment we are only prioritizing street dogs in dire condition.  It is your responsibility to care for your dog, and if this is no longer possible, you must do all you can to find a new home for the dog.  Perhaps advertise on Facebook or Social Media for new owners.

All of our lovely dogs are local aspins / askals.  Sometimes we find ourselves helping pedigree breeds, but if they are not already sterilised, we do that before putting them up for adoption, so they cannot be used for further breeding.  

Our Sanctuary is currently stretched to the limit regarding resources and manpower, so we can only make room for the worst cases we find. We soon hope to grow into a bigger institution that doesn’t only accommodate more rescues, but also implements programs to stem the influx of stray dogs in the area.
