HECTOR

Hector

This poor old boy was reported in February 2023 looking like the victim of a hit-and-run.  He couldn't move, and was in a terrible state of dehydration.  Luckily Cats and Dogs Veterinary Clinic was able to take him and stabilise his condition.  He is undergoing therapy at the Sanctuary to help him regain his mobility. We called him Hector.

Hector

Hector's Story

On 18 February 2023, we responded to a report of an older dog lying in the hot sun, unable to move.  A suspected case of hit-and-run, we are always concerned that despite there being no visible external damage, internal injuries are often severe and life-threatening.

Despite his inability to move, his x-rays did not show any significant organ damage or fractures.  After some life-saving actions from Cats and Dogs Clinic, he was returned to the Sanctuary, where he is beginning a course of physical and hydro-therapy, with the hope that his movement is only temporarily impaired by shock.   Luckily, there seems to be nothing wrong with his appetite, and with the help of a Sponsor who stepped forward, he will have all the necessary love, care and food from now on!

We’re very grateful to his many supporters who sent in over 13,000php in one day, and hopeful that with the support of his Sponsor, Hector will walk again.  If you wish to Sponsor one of our dogs, the cost is 1500php per month which will cover basic food and medication costs at the Sanctuary. In return, you will get a sponsorship Certificate and also a monthly update video.  Visit our Sponsorship page for more information.

Hector Adopted!Hector adoptedIn December 2024, we were nothing short of amazed when Hector made straight for potential adopter Paul during a visit, and put his head on his knee!  It was love at first sight, and the most fitting finale to Hector’s difficult rescue and recovery (see his profile here.)  We could not be happier!
