In August 2022, we finally had a little space and donations to bring in one of the dogs on our feeding rounds. His collar was causing skin issues, he was very thin, he had bad mange and a broken leg. He was named Kane.

Kane's Story
On 9 August 2022, we put put an appeal for funds to rescue a dog on the brink of death in Bacong. We were overwhelmed by how quickly the donations came in, many for small amounts of money, but this is how so many of our fund raising targets are reached - countless small donations.

We put him on an IV as he was very dehydrated, and understandably he was upset about being handled, but our vet assistants worked their magic and he became more relaxed. He was clearly owned once, and we hope with our help, he will find a happy home once more.
Kane had a broken leg, severe Mange, he was clearly on the edge of starvation, and his collar was embedded int his neck. His flesh was rotten and maggot-infested where the collar had bitten in. We removed it, and bought him to the Sanctuary. Instagram followers named him Kane, which is the Welsh name for a warrior.

Sadly, his leg was too badly broken to save, and so he joined the growing band of "tripod" dogs - those getting around on just three paws instead of four!
Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of generosity. It's such a wonderful thing to experience so much care being extended to a stray dog that nobody but a few have never met.
