Una

The only surviving puppy from a litter taken by emergency delivery from Gotel, a street dog who has since returned to the community, Una has been bottle-fed, is thriving and is available for adoption to a good and loving home.

Una's Story

Born on December 7 2021, Una is named in memory of a much-loved adoptee who died just before Christmas 2021. She was the only puppy to survive from an emergency caesarian delivery from Gotel, a now happy and healthy (and spayed) community dog living near the Gotel Motel in Dumaguete.

Gotel, Una's mother

Gotel is actually a success story - given Nexgard to treat her severe case of mange, she began to thrive, and was about to be bought in to be spayed when it was discovered she was pregnant, but scans showed that she would be unable to give birth naturally.

We brought her in and gave her a caesarian on December 7th but sadly - all but one puppy died.
Gotel remained very depressed at the Sanctuary, showing little interest in anything so we decided to take her back to the hotel, under the care of the residents and the guards.  She was SO happy to be back!  We will continue to monitor her and provide medical assistance when needed.

Una is an affectionate and playful little thing, and we hope that a suitable adoption family will step up and give her the care and attention that sadly Gotel was unable to provide.
