Wolfie
In January 2024 someone came to the Sanctuary asking us to help a dog he was trying to feed, but was too weak to eat. As we had some adoptions recently, we were able to find space for him. We called him Wolfie, and despite the big coat, he was skin and bines underneath. We are helping him recover, and hoping for a new home.
Wolfie's Story
On 5 January 2024, a guy turned up at the Sanctuary asking if we could rescue a husky that had turned up in his area a few days ago. He tried to feed it but it wouldn't eat. The dog was very thin and weak. He brought the dog in later and the poor thing was in a bad way. Under all his fur he was extremely emaciated and critically anaemic.
We did a full range of tests and he's positive for Ehrlichia and anaplasma, and also was bleeding from his nose. We have consulted with our vets in Isabela and have put him on IV and meds.
