Pia

Rescued on 19 September 2021, Pia was a pregnant street dog being fed by office workers in Bacong.  Sadly, she lost all the puppies, but made a full recovery - the workers gladly took her back when she had recovered from her ordeal.

Pia's Story

Despite the huge number of strays here that need rescuing, there are actually a lot of people who are trying to help.
Many companies feed strays near their buildings and some offices like Market Place even get them neutered. We always try to help where we can even though we are currently struggling to survive.

Pia after surgery

On 18 September 2021, we got a message about a pregnant stray being fed by office workers in Bacong.
She had started to give birth but the puppies were dead. The workers feared that there were still puppies inside. They offered to help donate towards the cost of the surgery and drove with the dog on a motorcycle in the heavy rain to get her to the Sanctuary.

Doc Pierre and Doc Milton did an emergency cesarean but the puppies were already dead and had started to decompose. We got her just in time to save her life. We put her on IV in one of the new kennels we just built.

Pia

The people who feed her call her Pia.  After her recovery, she was vaccinated, de-wormed, and returned her to her reporters, as she is clearly well cared for.

Here are the heroes who found our buttercup. Neither would accept the reward, despite the fact that 10,000 pesos is a LOT of money here.
